The 13 Tarrant County schools
Nolan Catholic and Cassata Catholic high schools; All Saints, Holy Family, St. Andrew, St. George, St. Peter the Apostle and St. Rita in Fort Worth; St. Joseph and St. Maria Goretti in Arlington; Holy Trinity in Grapevine; St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Keller; and St. John the Apostle in North Richland Hills. The diocese's other four schools are in Denton, Gainesville, Muenster and Prosper.
Camino
Camino is how the Catholic Schools Office helps families through TEFA: alerts, information sessions at every school and volunteers who assist with applications. Superintendent Frank Perez's advice to families was simple: if you qualify under the categories, apply.
Tuition assistance
The diocese says all of its schools offer need-based aid and about half of its students receive a scholarship of some kind. The Tuition Assistance Fund, founded in 2006 and supported by the diocesan Advancement Foundation, adds money to that aid. Apply through the individual school.
Catholic schools outside the diocese's system
Cristo Rey Fort Worth, a Catholic high school built around a corporate work-study program, and Chesterton Academy of Fort Worth, a classical Catholic high school, were also in the finder. St. Ignatius College Prep appeared only in the federal survey.
Seats and timing
In 2025 Bishop Michael Olson told NBC 5 he wouldn't be surprised if diocesan schools came close to capacity under the new program. Apply to the school while you apply to the state, because an award doesn't reserve a seat.
